I have a number of thoughts/questions I would ask HR if I had the opportunity but since that won't happen, I'll ask just one; related to crypto. If an EMP, be it natural or man-caused, were to fry the grid(s), how can crypto be utilized?

Perhaps someone can explain to me how you buy food with gold, once the economy has collapsed, and fake $ are no longer accepted. Does one Krugerrand buy a meal? I am not trying to be a jerk here, I just don't see how gold could help, unless it is as a store for when things get back to normal. Which could take decades.
